Christmas Book Exchange

Every year our dear friend Christy & Luke host a book exchange. This year, Nicholas was very excited to go because he is learning how to read. We enjoyed our friends, hot cocoa and snacks and of course playing Star Wars with all the boys! We love adding to our library and of course all the great Christmas books are wonderful. And he loves to read!

A visit to Santa

The boys went to visit Santa yesterday at a quaint little toy store here in Kingwood (On the Park). A real life Santa visits every year and donates his time & money for good causes.
This year, Gabriel ran right up to him and showed him his Buzz (B) Lightyear. I figured he would be balling like last year, but not this time. He saw how brave Nicholas was and followed big brother right up to sit in his lap.
For a couple of weeks now, Gabriel has been a pain in the rump every morning while trying to get out the door to school. Nicholas told him that if he didn't behave, Santa was going to bring him a bag of "rocks" for under the tree. Yesterday, as I was busy paying Santa's elf, I looked over and saw Gabriel having a long conversation with his new best friend, Santa. This sweet little conversation between them both was priceless. I have no idea what was said, nor do I know if Santa understood every word, but I did catch a line that Gabriel did say. It was this classic line that I will never forget, "here is my B, and no rocks please!" It was the sweetest thing and I think inspite of all those mornings I was cursing under my breath for him to cooperate, that Santa will bring him those presents after all.....Merry Christmas my little boys!

Happy Birthday Nicholas!

Nicholas turned 6 on November 25th- but his party was at Chuck E. Cheese a weekend before that. He had 16 boys and girls there and had a blast!! Lots of tokens, pizza and presents! The day finished with a trip to the movies with his best friend Grant to see the movie Bolt. I love you little Nicklebee! Happy Birthday big boy!

Thanksgiving weekend....

This is long overdue!! But here are some pics of the time we spent in Dallas. My brother Bo and his family (stefanie & mackenzie) joined us all in Dallas for some well deserved family time. The kids had fun playing with the football, remote controlled cars and just laughing at one another.

Our Halloween w/ friends!

It's beginning to be a tradition- we trick or treat with Nicholas' best friends, Jack & Grant. His other good friends are there too, Bailey & Riley (see Summer Fun 08 pics).

We enjoyed the evening with pizza, cupcakes & Margaritas (which were yummy, thanks Cory)! Then off to trick or treat! Nicholas & his friends hit all the houses on the block, and poor little Gabriel tried to keep up with the big boys! They both got alot of candy and hope they won't get "alot" of cavaties! It was a great Halloween and we will hopefully enjoy it with our friends again next year!!

Gabriel's Halloween Parade

Gabriel had his first Halloween parade at his new school! He dressed up like his favorite character, Buzz Lightyear- however, he refers to him as "B". He loves Toy Story, so we decided that's what he would be this year.
Gabriel loves his new school and his two teachers- Ms. Julieta (pictured) & Ms. Amanda. They had a Halloween party at his school with cookies, sandwiches, fruit & juice. Gabriel gobbled it right up!

The REAL Biggio & Berkman....

Nicholas and his best friend Grant are on the same T-ball team this Fall. Their team name...the Astros! They have played very well, hitting awesome and learning how to slide into home base. Making sure they get their white baseball pants really dirty!
We have played many games and all have been so enjoyable. Nicholas is really enjoying this sport and succeeding at it already. Papa says he may have found his sport!!

Halloween Costumes..Part I

So Nicholas wants to be a RED Power Ranger..not just any color, but the Red guy. So, here he is trying out his costume and giving mom some action shots! Brother, where is your costume?

Go Astros!!

Jaime took Nicholas to see the Astros play at Minute Maid Park! I won these tickets in a raffle they had at a party we went too during Hurricane Ike. Jaime said the seats were wonderful, right behind the dugout. Nicholas enjoyed catching a t-shirt from the mascot and another ball he caught from a player. Though he cannot stay the whole 9 innings, these are memories Jaime and Nicholas are making together. In a few more years, there will have to be 3 tickets to the games!
